beta lead missed matched?

I have inherited a sunn 4 12 L cabinet. the back panel states it is 8 ohms.
My beta lead ( which I love nearly) has an output rated at 4 ohms. Do I risk damage to either item by running them together ? any answers / recommendations which the forum can provide to this electronically challenged guitarist would be welcomed.

Hello:
 The only problem running 8ohms is that you will be reducing power by 40%. Since Betas are real loud anyway this should not be a problem unless you are competing with 100watt marshals and such. As a general rule for transistor amps higher impedances cause no problems. Lower impedances (like 2ohms) will cause overheating (thermal runaway) and current limiting circuits to kick in causing unpredictable results.

yes there is a risk of over heating your Beta Lead by making it work to hard trying to push the current through 8 ohms instead of 4. The same the happened to my vibro champ and melted my power transformer.

Hello:
 As I stated above, transistor amps don't care if they run with higher inpedance or even no load. Tube amps are a whole different deal as higher impedance can cause voltage to soar in the transformer shorting the windings.
