Tell me about the 412L

Hello, i have recently come across a 412L for pretty cheap. i admit the first thing that drew me to it was its profoundly 70's look; but i loved Sunn before that. anyway, how do these things sound? i have a 1998 Laney GH50L and was thinking about maybe getting a 412L to form a halfstack instead of the 2x10 Yamaha box i have now. what kind of speakers came stock? thanks a lot.

Keep in mind, this is a guitar cabinet (hence the L designation). You're a bass player, aren't you?

bass player about 70% of the time, but i like guitar too.

so these things were middle-of-the-road sounding cabinets? i can live witht hat. hell, for $150, i'm not expecting a Hiwatt SE4123.

I can't say that for sure, never having heard one. I have a Sunn 412 of similar vintage, and it sounds pretty good, but Sunn Transducers aren't JBLs, or Celestions, either.

Isaac, I have a 412L and the speakers have a little white sticker that says this, "121236 8ohms 67-94130136 G1."  I was just wondering if you knew if those were the original speakers that came in the cab.
