model t inputs/outputs
« on: May 28, 2006, 08:57:01 pm »
i have a 73 model t that i run at 8 ohms, to 2 8 ohm cabinets, each one connected to separate speaker outs.  i also have a black-faced concert lead which i suspect is a four ohm head.  i have a sunn re-issue 16 ohm cab that i run with the concert lead.  how can i run the concert lead out of the model t?  how can i use the concert lead as a slave amp?  i'm using output jack on model t going to the concert lead~~is that ok?  i'm just unsure of the ohms and am worried i will mess something up.

First off, I recommend setting the Model T impedance selector to 4 ohms, since you're running two 8 ohm cabinets, which is a 4 ohm load.

Next, try running a cord from the T's Line Out to the Power Amp In on the Concert Lead. That would be using everything as it was designed to be used, which is a good way to start.

isaac, i tried what you suggested and still wasnt having any luck. i went from the model t line out on the back of the amp to the power amp in on the concert lead. still i was confused about where to run out to the guitar. the t or the concert lead? before i was going normal out on the model t to the concert lead normal input.then using both in on the model t going out to the guitar that way i could still control volume for the t and the concert..i may not be making any sense. hope im not confusing you.thanks again

Since you are driving the concert power amp from the Model T you would plug into the Model T.  The T would control overall volume and tone.

At 16 ohms, the concert won't be producing anywhere near it's 4 ohm 150w output so the sound output difference between the two speaker cabinets might not be equal.  Your previous hookup would allow you to control volume and tone for each cabinet.

thanks,im using the model t at 16 ohms with the 4 12( 16 ohms),and the concert lead (4 ohms) with the 2  4 10 cabs(8 ohms) which would give me a four ohm load.thanks for the help
