Old Sunn bass cabinets
« on: July 06, 2006, 03:29:56 pm »
I have two sunn bass cabinets from the early-mid 70's (aluminum/black metal logo badge on front grill). Each has a 15" square-back Eminence (60 WRMS?) and a single tube port in a 29"H x 24"W x 11"D cabinet. Does anyone know the model number, rating and original retail price? I haven't been able to locate any catalog info on these. There appears to have been some ID badge on the rear of the cabinet, but only a few small black round-head tacks remain in the spot where I've ID plates on other sunn cabs. I've found these to be great gig cabinets (after I've loaded them with upgrade speakers) cause they are relatively small, light and make an impressive stack at larger venues.

Thanks but no, cabs are not for sale. I use them almost every weekend for gigs, sometimes for practice. Nothing on the current market comes close to portability/tone/looks/price (I paid $75 @ not counting speaker upgrade). All contemporary 1x15 or 4x10 cabs seem to have a shorter & deeper construction (probably a better design acoustically), more cube like, but makes a more awkward cab to carry. Lot of screws on the back though, makes speaker service a long task.
