OLD MODEL T TROUBLES
« on: January 14, 2008, 04:49:11 pm »
I'VE GOT AN OLD MODEL T AND I'VE JUST RUN INTO SOME TROUBLE LATELY...
SOMETIMES WHEN I PLAY THE VOLUME CUTS OUT...AND THEN AFTER ABOUR 10 SECONDS YOU CAN HEAR THE SOUND KICK BACK IN.  IT SORT OF HAS THIS WEIRD LOSS OF POWER FEEL AND WHEN THE SOUND COMES BACK IT'S GOT THIS RUSHING SORT OF FADE IN SOUND.  I'VE NEVER REPLACED THE TUBES AND I GOT IT USED......IS THIS THE TIME TO CHANGE THE TUBES?  IS IT SOMETHING ELSE?

THANKS IN ADVANCE!

Hi there, sounds like a combination of bad tubes and power supply failure. If you're not familiar with tube electronics, take it to a tech.It probably needs a cap job and a new set of tubes.Good luck,Mel.
