2000s rectifier tubes
« on: April 19, 2000, 05:23:00 pm »
I just got a 2000s head w/2-15 cab.The inspection tag in the head reads 9-22-70-B.E. It has sockets for 2 GZ34/5AR4 tubes. In place of the tubes someone has replaced them w/a solidstate rectifier(similar to Groove Tubes S.S. Rect but smaller)1.25"w x2.0d including pins.On the top it's marked OG- 5R4   DIODES INC. I want to put in the orig type rectifier tubes back in.I'm just curious, since the original design called for 2 tubes, can only 1 S.S. rectifier replacement safely be used? I would guess two would be needed.I don't want to fry my transformers.Worked good enough to buy!I just want to make her right. Can anyone help me? Toddy B.
