Would I port which cabinet? A sealed cabinet is not ported by definition. A fourth-order bandpass is actually two cabinets in one, with the driver mounted between them. Sound comes out the port.

sorry, I was refering to the sealed cabinet, but I guess by definition, it is a sealed cabinet.

sorry to continue this but can you further describe a fourth-order bandpass?

Check out this link, there's a small picture (and it's still better than anything I could whip up in Paint right now)

The last time I heard a band play where the bass player used only a Folded Horn Cab there was not much Bass at my table 15' from the band. When I got up to leave, the Bass was vibrating the glasses at the bar 40' feet away. Wouldn't you want to use a front loaded cab with the folded horn?

I think Johnny G is on the right track, a true folded horn with some direct radiating speakers would be the ultimate....IMHO

The Gallien Krueger B48MF was exactly that, IIRC.

Just googled the GK and could't find anyhting. I know Ampeg made an isobaric with 2 - 10's firing forward but I don't recall ever seeing a true FH with them. There is a tickle in my head about someone putting a couple of 5" in the front of an Acoustic 361 cabinet but....it's just a tickle...

Hi there, they were probably trying to imitate a Traynor cab.,which had the same model # a B48-MF,it was a full folded horn with a Cerwin Vega 18" sp. and 2 - 8" drivers mounted on the front of the "w" box. We used to lay it down and lay an SVT 8 x 10" on top of it,killed up close and far away,Mel.
