Model T as a Bass Head
« on: November 24, 2008, 06:59:44 pm »
I've recently heard a few people mention using a Model T as a bass head. I don't immediately see any problem with the idea so long as I use a bass cab with it, but I love my Model T, and I'd love to not blow it up. I'm not sure what to think.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Hi there, using it for bass won't hurt it a bit.I used one for quite some time and loved it,lots of "guts" to the sound, great amps.Good luck,Mel.

Be aware though that it doesn't have a particularly clean sound unless you keep the "gain" at 2 or so.  Any higher and it starts to distort.

I bought one a few months ago, spent a fortune getting it into shape and am now about to sell it.  I'm used to the clean sound from my '71 Sorado and I'd rather have the cash than the T.

Selling, you say? :)

"That just ain't right" only if you are a buyer.  If you're a seller ...  8-)

I have a 1974 Model T that is about to go on the market.  A friend asked me to give him first crack at it, so if he doesn't want it you'll see a listing on this board shortly.
