Beta Bass -- Distortion Monster?
« on: January 04, 2009, 06:17:35 am »
Morning folks,

After years of ignoring the Beta series, I've started doing my homework, and I'm thinking about getting a Beta Bass. I play both bass and guitar, and I'd like something that will be horrendously distorted, high gain, fuzzy, and capable of ungodly noise--as well as being useful for both bass and guitar applications. From everything I've read, the Betas seem to fit the bill in terms of their capacity for vicious distortion. Am I fairly on the mark?

Any feedback or other amp suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I've been considering a Coliseum 880 also, but I'm not sure I'd get the same distortion as that offered by a Beta Bass. As always, thanks in advance!

Hello, I love my beta bass. I does get a good raunchy distorion & is very loud. You can also get a real nasty sound by running a dist pedal with it & just adjust the drive on the beta to your liking.
