Heads up guys - I went ahead and built my own footswitch for my new Beta Lead. It was a pain and kind of expensive, but well worth the effort.
I posted a thread on it in the DIY subforum
here, in case anyone else wants to undertake the task. Hope it makes some sense, as I have a hell of a headache right now. It's not so much a fully comprehensive tutorial as it is just build notes. If you've never built anything like this before you'll need to get up to speed a bit before tackling it. Main things you need to know are:
1) how to read a basic schematic
2) how to identify resistors / diodes and orient them correctly in a circuit
3) how to source components
4) how to solder components / PCB
I will post a photo of the outside of the finished product in that thread tomorrow.
whew.
If anyone has questions, please post them in the build thread.
