Hey, I just discovered this, and it's too late for me to nominate Jack Casady as a write-in!

Jack and other SF-area bassists used Sunn gear in the late '60s and it was seeing Jack use Sunn with Jefferson Airplane that drove my choice to become Sunn equipped a couple of years later.

Please include Jack as a candidate if you do this poll again. Thanks!

Yes I have to agree. Jack is definately one of the best Rock bassists. Also to mention Felix Pappalardi from Mountain. The sound Felix had with those cranked up Sunn's giving him great sustain and a natural buzz rendering a unique sound with solid lows from those RLFH cabinets. Nothing like a cranked up Sunn!

Should not John Paul Jones be considered among the rock bassists? Also, the work of Rick Danko with The BAnd is truly memorable if you considered the complexity of his playing given the fact that he was singing much of the time.
Among all genres, there have to be other options. James Jamerson with Motown is one. IN the jazz world, there is Ron Carter among other giants. Larry Brown created funk.

what about joe preston as thrones, that guy had quit a sunn set up I really don't know details but I remember it was like three full stacks two for the bass and one for the synth. guy was fuking loud!!!!!!!!!!
