grill cloth for my 415M

Hello, I just bought a 415M this weekend for $225! This thing is amazing, I love the tone. The guy that I got it from had spray painted the siver grill cloth black & I was wondering where to get some new cloth. I also want to redo the front of my 1200s. That amp sits on a fender/sunn 4x12 with the silver grill cloth. Is that pretty much the same stuff? I'd like them to match. Also I want to redo the 415m but I don't know if I want to do it back in original silver or maybe in the same black like the red logo sunn cabs with the white behind it. I know that might sound weird but I'll also be useing a 205 cab with the 415m & I though it would be cool if they matched. Also I think the angled speakers are really cool looking & I thought it would be neat to paint the inside white to be able to see them behind the grill like the later model stuff. I hope this makes sense :? I'm just trying to decide which way to go & where the heck to get grill cloth.

I believe there was talk of a Traynor re-issue series with a cloth very similar to that which Sunn used, but I could be wrong. Finding the exact material may be tricky, but if you can, that would be amazing!

Also, $225?!?!?!  Man, I'd love a deal like that.

As you probably would have guessed, the replacement grill cloth question has come up a few times before. The search feature on this forum is your friend...  :wink:

Yeah, I did a search yesterday but nothing came up :? I think I must have searched in a sub catagory by mistake or something. Did a search a bit ago & sure enough :-D Thanks for the info!!!

Paco,

Go to the Mojo Musical Supply web site.  They have a black/white/silver grill cloth that is very close to the cloth used on Sunn amps and speakers...that is if your cab had the Fender style cloth.  The Sunn cloth was mounted with the rectangular pattern running vertically, not horizontally like the Fenders.  The cloth from Mojo has the pattern running the length of the roll so it will fit just about any amp. Go to the DIY section and look at my post about rebuilding a 67 Sentura II.  I've used the Mojo grill cloth on the amp head.  It has a blusih tinge in the pictures, but that's the flash.  The cloth is black/white/silver.
