Sentura I trem
« on: July 15, 2009, 04:52:23 pm »
Greetings -

Am I right in thinking the tremolo in a Sentura I is similar to a Fender trem in that you have to short the footswitch jack to get it to stop?

Thanks!
Don

You are correct. Short the footswitch to disable the tremolo.

Thank you, Mr. Thud -

A follow-up, if you don't mind.  The lamp/LDR assembly doesn't look like your typical Fender 'roach'.  In fact, going by the way it's hooked up, it looks like it's ON the majority of the time; and is a low-voltage (not a neon) unit besides.

Have you had to/been able to source a replacement?

Thanks!
Don

This has been discussed before several times. This is the best thread:

Conrad himself contributes but as of now, there is no solution. The Fender roach with a neon lamp will not work.

Conrad suggests a VTL3A27 from Oak Ridge Radio

At $6, I'm inclined to give it a try.

Thanks a ton, Thud!

As near as I can tell that part isn't made anymore. Perkin Elmer only makes the LED types now. If you can find old stock, buy it up.
