Need some advice

I already know some info on the Guitar,as far as I know it is a 1969 gibsonES-330 DT.The amp I know nothing about all I know is that it is a Sunn Dymos any info will be greatly appreciated.Both of theses items were purchased brand new in or around 1969 and was only used a handful of times.Also I got the both of theses for free.Thanks

You are a very fortunate fella....and I am just a 'little' jealous!! ...of the 'free' part...Ha! The Gibson is absolutely a cherry ES-330TD/ I,m sure the the Sunn gurus will give you plenty of info on the amp. Enjoy! and thanks for the Guitar and amp porn...Rod  :-o

greg..nice score....nice toys....nice free....i thought i could help you date your amp...all my sunn catalogs, from 66 to 75 don't show your amp....it might have been made later...i'am sure the other guys on this site can date you amp with a little enfo for you as soon as they read your post...your guitar, no wait...your free guitar is beautiful..if you don't play....learn.....smiles     Bob from mass

If you look in the Sunn Catalog Thread and search for "Dymos" you'ld see that it was rated at 40W and only available from 1969 to mid 1970. There was one on ebay recently, just the chassis. Surprisingly, it had four output transistors which seems excessive for a 40W amp. The Studio Lead and Studio Bass only had two output transistors and they were rated at 50W.

That may depend on which transistor is being used.

If I'm not mistaken the dymos used 4 x 2N3055's but 1 x was used as reverb spring transudcer drive and the other was a pre-driver. So there are only 2 x 2N3055's as quasi-comp output = 40W.
