I have a '71 that I'm about to post on Ebay. How much do these usually go for?
This one has all of it's original guts and the solid state rectifier. I did replace the old and frayed two prong power cable with a 14 foot, 3 prong power cable. The previous owner had it since '77 and replaced the tubes once in '78, hence, the vintage GE power tubes are pretty weak. I pulled the Tung-Sol 6550's from my Orange AD200b to test it out and it played much cleaner and louder with those installed. Tubes are a personal preference, so I'll leave that up to the new owner. (but if the new owner would prefer to have it tubed and biased, I can have that done for the cost of the tubes before shipping/pickup) In my opinion, the original caps are in good shape with no signs of leaking or bulging--the amp is very quiet unless you turn it up all the way, which is standard for just about every amp that I've ever played. This amp was considerably dirty when I got it, but it cleaned up quite well. There is some slight rust here and there and the grill cloth is pretty dirty with a nick or two, but overall in good shape. I left the back panel as it was because I didn't want to mess up any of the labels or anything. That's about it. It should be on Ebay within the hour, though I'd rather sell it here so that it receives a proper owner and I can save on fees and such. I know I'm new here, but check out my Ebay feedback and feel safe.
I also have two original matching 1x18 cabinets that I may be willing to part with if someone can pick them up. (Louisville, KY) I will not ship these. Actually, I'll probably only sell them if I don't get what I want out of the head or if someone makes a good offer for them. Guess we'll see.
Thanks!!
