I am willing to run Sunn Sorado amp on 230V / 50Hz. There are several options:
1. run it through an outboard step down transformer,
2. rewire existing one to match 230V,
3. buy a Dynaco clone P782, wired for 230V. here it is:
http://www.triodeelectronics.com/p782sexp.htmlIf I choose 1st option, I will be doomed to carry that thing everywhere I go. I've no experience with the 2nd option, so I can't predict what will happen (what if I blow myself up?). 3rd one seems the most reasonable, but I am not 100% sure if P782 is a correct replacement PT for a Sorado. I will surely last longer than the original one. And a smell of a fresh transformer... mmm...
Any one tried such an operation? Any thoughts?
