Sunn amp wanted, but I am from England.
« on: September 20, 2010, 02:05:02 pm »
Ok, I got £250 to spend on an amp. I was gonna buy a Blackheart Handsome Devil, a 15 watt compact tube head, in the early hours of the morning, tomorrow, that is when I'll have the cash. I have that one in mind since I need a smaller, more portable amp than my Sunn Sceptre for when I record my album next year. But I thought I'd ask on here if you guys have anything for sale before I commit to the Blackheart, haha.
I converted £250 to USD and it comes out at $388 today. I can't buy another tube head, since that goes against the reason for me buying another amp, too big. So I was thinking Sunn solid state. A Beta Lead head I'd like, preferably. But I would like to check out a Concert Lead though TBH, not the early seventies ones, the late seventies ones that look like Beta Series stuff. Recommendations are welcome!
 Thanks.

If size is an issue, then probably so is weight and carryability. If you're interested in Concert Leads at all, get an early 70's on, 1/2 the weight of a red knob Concert Lead (25ish vs. 50ish lbs. and the handle is on the top unlike the side of the red knob making it far easier to carry. But I'd probably just take Stanner up on his offer for his Beta.
