Sunn 412L - two late 70's cabs, two different sizes?
« on: November 15, 2010, 04:32:26 am »
Group...

I have two late 70's Sunn 412L cabs, they both have the style same input plate on the back.
8 ohm / 160 watts

They both look like the picture below, but only one has 4 screws holding on the grill cloth.

The other one looks just like it, WITHOUT the 4 grill cloth screws but is a slightly larger cab in size.

Does anyone know anything about mulitple size 412L cabs?

THANKS!

Don't know about the size being very different.. I also have two 412L's both in the different style. I'm pretty sure they're the same size, although the one without the screws has a little "roundness" to the grill cloth making the baffle appear smaller.

^ One has the casters on, the other does not. That's the only size difference in mine.

Mike, looking at your picture, of the two cabs stacked with the one I sold you on top, it definitely looks a little wider.

the one on top looks a little taller too.  but i'd be willing to bet it's a trick on the old eyes from the different style grill cloth frames.

I'm thinking that too, otherwise, I think it's time some measurements be made!

I'd bet you're right. When I had them stacked the fit really flush (otherwise I wouldn't have stacked them). If it wasn't for the grill cloth I would get them mixed up (like I have before). Yeah Walt, that one on top is the one I bought from ya  8-)
