Dual Inputs on Sorado/Sonaro?
« on: November 28, 2010, 07:16:22 am »
I couldn't stay away from the forum for long.

After selling my Model T's -- one to the mighty MattO))) and the other to a lad who drove to Baltimore all the way from Montreal (!) --I piddled around with a Crate amp for a few months. Unacceptable!

So, I just bought a beautiful pair: a 70s Sonaro and a 70s Sorado, both with 6550's.

Here's the question: I've searched the forum and the catalogs, and, except for one brief mention in the thread "I bought it because it said Sunn," I can't find any explanation of the dual inputs on the Sonaro/Sorado. As far as I can tell, both inputs are exactly the same. Is that the case, and, if so, what was the reasoning behind having two?

Thanks folks,
James

I think the other jack was so you could use two instruments with one amp.
Back in the olden days, I used to plug my bass into one input and my Radio Shack microphone into the other. I wasn't the only one either, it was common practice among my fellow 12-13 yr old player friends to use one amp for two things; vocals, guitar and bass, etc.
