It'll be interesting to see if he puts up the "Smiley Faced Sunns" for sale and how much they'll go for.

Ta, thanks for moving it Edbass.

Just to clarify, I'm not associated with the seller, I was merely dumbstruck by the listing. Anyone know the guy or if he's on this board?

Based upon his asking price and item description, he's probably just some guy with no affiliation to us.

There's a member here, mc2, who has (or at least had, I haven't seen any posts lately) an incredibly huge collection of early Sunn gear; I think something like 5 2000S rigs, 4 or 5 smiley face heads and cabs, one of Leslie West's Coliseum T's, multiples of most all of the "ultra desireables" etc. etc. etc... as well as a ton of very tasty non Sunn vintage gear.
I think mc2 was in NYC Metro, and did a lot of buying and selling.

I don't know if that's who it is, but that's the first person that popped into my mind when I saw the listing and read the description.

As far as the price, who cares what the BIN is? Those are my favorite type of listings, if I see something I want with a BIN/OBO, I'll bid what I am willing to pay and forget about it unless I get a "Congratulations!" email from eBay; no temptation to chase things too high. I've actually bought gear off eBay for less than half of the BIN price.
Granted, way more often than not I don't get it, but what's the harm in trying? As the old saying goes "Nothing Ventured, Nothing Gained".

Bidding on eBay is like a sport now... I can't count how many times I've been sniped off on there. Yikes.

Yeah....that was me. I didn't have time to do decent shots the first time of the back/inside.

I added rear pics and relisted it and someone hit the "Buy It Now" almost immediately.

Actually, no. Who's in MD?

The buyer also took two more SUNN rigs from me and is sending a truck to pick it all up!

He's also buying more after the holidays :)

I'm in MD, and I WISH it were me. I'd love that Solarus stack.

There was this guy in MD I had talked to a while back who was trying to sell me Model T for 3 grand and went on the whole spiel about how he has to sell it to put his children through college, then after I declined the offer I saw the guy posting up ads looking to buy a PA head for "top dollar in top condition" or something rather.. funny.
