Late 70's Sunn 415M cabinet // ---SOLD---
« on: November 29, 2010, 12:58:08 pm »
I am selling my Sunn 415M bass cabinet. I bought in 1986 but it has very low hours especially since I sold my Fender Musicmaster bass years ago. It's in perfect working condition, but it is missing the logo on the grill cloth. I have it listed on craigslist out of Appleton, Wisconsin on the 28th of November. There are pictures listed with the add. Asking $500. Any questions you can call 920-385-0563 or e-mail me at gsandri@ymail.com                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                              I also posted it on ebay classifieds in the Appleton,WI area. There you can see better pictures of it.

Hey, Madaradio,

I use a 415M for bass (Dan Armstrong, P-Bass and fretless P-Bass) with a 200S head. Sounds great -- much better than my 215 Sorado enclosure. A few months ago, I hacked around with some friends during a trip to Ohio and put my Nastycaster and my Dan Armstrong 6-string through it. I was amazed at how good these guitars sounded with the four 15's. Plenty of highs that I didn't expect, and the dirt was even better - all without pedals.

Excellent enclosure.

Warmest...

Yeah! That seems to be the issue. I was talking to a guy in Austin,TX and he wants it in the worst way, but the cost of shipping would put him over the top. I checked with UPS and it would cost around 160 bucks, but I especially would want to insure it which is more $$$. Thanks for looking though!

I actually play guitar and used a MusicMan RD-100 head and it sounded great actually. I thought the brightness would not be there, but suprisingly, it was! I also ran a 65' Fender Twin Reverb and used the 415M as an extension speaker and also liked the results. These amps are tube fed and have all the brightness you want anyway.

I would consider shipping, but the downfall is that the one quote from ups was @ 160 bucks and that was to ship to Texas. Ebay calculated the shipping to NYC for I think 152.50 and then of course I would put insurance on it. A friend suggested Federal Express maybe cheaper, but I'll have to check. What state do you live in? I can get a quote for you.

very nice.  I'm just trying to sell another amp at the moment, if I do I'll be in contact.  No one really seems to be biting though...  I'd rather have that cab.

Check with Federal Express Ground, as they often are cheaper than UPS. For a package this size, they'd require you send it to a business address.

I've seriously considered driving from Baltimore to get this cab.

Or trying to convince fellow forum member and fellow Baltimorean D(o)))(((o)M to build me a 4x15 like his. ::Ahem::....hint hint.
