Solarus Transformer need help
« on: December 19, 2010, 05:31:33 pm »
I have found 2 schematics for a solarus. One shows transformer # 3-4pt and another # 3-6pt. Whats the  difference?
Does any body have this transformer for sale, or can tell me a new replacement number so i can find one.
I dont think the one thats there is original. It has numbers  464206 and 3527712 stamped on it.
Transormers really isnt my thing. I have looked at these

You need a new output transformer?

I bought this one not too long ago (for my 2xKT88 Sunn) and it's working just fine: http://store.triodestore.com/a4dyoutr43oh.html

3-4pt (40 watt EL 34 based amps with 7199 pi tube) actually physically smaller  , 3-6pt would be the 60 watt KT88 or originally 6550's powered amps. Big as Melons....

SUNN made 40 watters and 60 watters in identical looking packages like my 40 watt Solarus Head became a identical looking 60 watt only model a few months after.
Bands currently. For Fox Sake (Lead Guitar) Aces High (5 string Bass) Zoot Suit Riot (Tenor Sax) Miles to Midnight (Fretless jazz bass) Rockfish (5 string bass) Spent Youth (5 string bass) Tried as Adults (5 string bass)
