sunn model t lower wattage question

can i take 2 of the 6550 tubes out to bring down the wattage on the head? if so which 2?

why would you want to bring down the wattage?

Yes, you can. I doubt you'll be impressed my the result, though. Reducing the power by half will reduce the output by only 3 dB, which is not a large difference at all.

If so with the money from the hot plate you can buy 4-5 overdrive - distortion pedals. Once you find the ideal that matches your T you sell them and here you are

While the Model T is a great amp, if I wanted some serious head distortion I'd probably go with an Orange or a Hiwatt, but that's just me.

i had a soundcity 120r it was ok but i just remember my t having more drive than what its got now i got some tung-sol  and electro harmonix 12ax7's on the way hoping that will fix it.

Orange yes... but Hiwatt? 
IMO Hiwatts are just about as clean as it gets, unless there's something wrong with them.
I'd say Orange, Matamp, even Marshall if you want big raw nasty power.

If harmonic distortion is the goal, I'd avoid Dave Reeves (Hiwatt/Reeves) and Dynaco (Sunn) circuits, unless you use pedals or overdrive the preamp stages pretty hard.
Both of those circuits are pretty Hi-Fi, but generally take pedals quite well.

Just in my opinion, of course.
