Amp slaving question
« on: March 31, 2011, 12:47:40 pm »
Been playing with an idea in my head about creating interesting tones using 2 amps. Thinking something like the Sunn Concert Lead (guitar) and a Sunn Concert or Coliseum Bass head. Run the bass into the bass head, using the Concert Lead guitar head as a slave, and would be using with 2 cabs (both are 2x15). Trying to yield lots of volume and a cool, unique tone. Would this work?

Using the Concert Lead as a Slave usually means connecting them together using the Preamp Out/Power amp In jacks on the back. That will work but the controls on the front of the Concert Lead won't be operational. If you use a Coliseum Bass as the Master, there may be a significant difference in volume between the two that you have no control over. It would be best to connect the guitar or bass to both amps at the front input jacks. That will allow you to control tone and volume of each speaker.

I will stick to my original plan and just get a V4B!

Nothing unique about that.
