SUNN Stagemaster combo amp
« on: March 26, 1999, 05:02:00 pm »
Hi!
New to the board.  I'm looking for anything I can get my hands on regarding this amp.  It is a Tualitin OR made amp.  Is there a reliable way to date it?  It has more "balls" than a Marshall, and it makes my Telecaster sound excellent.  Any info I can get will be appreciated!  Thanks in advance!

Have you tried contacting fender? I think for 5
bucks you can get schematics or a manual for old
sunn amps.

Hey Sunnboy:

Nada, zip, zilch, although Wolfe MacLeod of Wolfetone Custom Pickup fame-(whom I got it from), said he got it from a Seattle Grunge band  called the Accused, and that they got it from someone in Nirvana-(possibly cobain?, he was known to use this kind of stuff).  Other than that, I know nothing, to quote Sgt. Schultz.
Peace

Kip Arnett;
Hey I worked at Sunn (before Fender) and was involved in the designing of the Stagemaster amp. My room mate, and now owner of NSI lighting, Bob Hick and I designed the amp back in 1980. I still have some spare pre-amp boards (stuffed) and possibly an owners manual. If you have a manual turn to the back in the section that has suggested amp settings and in there you will see "Dons favorite setting". What do you want to know?
