model t chasis screws

Anyone know what size the screws are that hold the chasis in place inside the head cab?

They look to be 10-24 round or pan head phillips machine screws (not countersunk) 1 1/2" long and are accompanied by a flat fender washer (1" o.d.). Adding #10 tooth lockwashers wouldn't be a bad idea. Mine didn't come with any but maybe they were lost along the way.

Mine are not pan heads. They're flat heads with the finishing washers Sunn always used.

do you guys know where i can get a set of the square nuts that the screw goes into? i've never seen these kind before.

I guess Isaac is refering to countersunk flat head with standard countersunk washer. My model T probably had them replaced at one point though there is no trace of the trim washers ever having been there. The flat washers may have squashed the "cut"in the tolex. All else was bone stock. I have a '67 100s sittin' here that has oval head countersunk screws (10-32) with standard countersunk washers. After 40+ years they may have been replaced at some point. I like the looks of the oval head with the trim washer.

The nuts in the chassis are called "cage nuts". I found them at Ace Hardware.

Wish we had a Ace Hardware in town, hopefully OSH, Home Depot, or Lowes will have them.

Rotgut...Jaywalker has it right, the 10-32 oval c'sinks and trim washers were on my T, and I'm pretty sure that's what we used in the factory, on the T and many other products. If you can't find them or the cage nuts where you are, tag me back, I can probably get them at Ace again and ship them to you if you pick up the tab.
