Thanks for the reply.

I know that I rambled a bit, so Just to be clear:
With the 100 ohm resistor in place across the green LED leads,
the switch works reliably, just like the amp did when it was new.
It's only intermittent when I remove the resistor.

I'll take your advise and service all connections. I bought a pac of LED's from radio shack.
They are 3 volt max,20mA 40mcd, 5mm. I'll try replacing that.I'll have to measure the volts
DC at the switch to see if this is a good LED for the job.

I'm tied up for a day or two, but in the mean time if any one else has advise, please chime in.
I'll keep you guys updated as the project moves on. You have all been very helpfull.

Thanks,
ECR

I replaced the Green LED and the switch works fine. The one by product is that the new LED is much brighter than the old one.
Other than that, I gave it a pretty good work out/test run and all functions work fine with no pops, clicks, or flickers.
Any ideas on the brightness issue? The LED is probably not the original spec. I can live with that if I have to.

Hooray to you all for being of so much help. Now if I can just find a set of logic chips to have as a back up...

Thanks again,
ECR
