Solarus head box dimensions
« on: August 20, 2012, 03:29:52 pm »
So,  need to have a new head box made for my restored Solarus chassis.
This was originally in the vertical 2x12 combo form, but I want it to be a stand alone head now.

I contacted LDS and got a quote for him to make me a head cab, and it's no problem, but I need to either give him the dimensions of the head box or ship him my chassis.
I'd rather not have to ship the chassis, so does anyone out there have the plans or dimensions for the standard small head box used on so many of the Sunn heads?

I believe it's the same head box as the 200s, Sorado, Sonaro, Septre, 190B/L etc...

Thanks for any help you can provide

I just measured a 200S and it's 24"W X 9.5"D X 10"H.
I currently have an empty 200S amp box in my shop that I could take some pics of, but it might take me until this weekend to get around to it.

EdBass,

That would be great if you could snap a couple of quick pics, I guess the main ones i would need would be front and rear pics with no chassis.
And thanks for measuring the empty head box for me!

The tricky part is getting the slant on the grill cloth panel and the length of the panel to mate up with the top of the chassis. I'm not sure if the top and bottom of that panel are cut at an angle.
