i aquired a magna 2480 about a year ago.
the chief engineer, at the manufacturer i work for, took one of the modules yesterday and replaced all the resistors with 1% metal film resistors and replaced the op-amps for the filter section and the input section with 5534 and 5532 op-amps.
he also replaced the old caps in the power supply with brand new ones.
i already really liked the fatness of the sound of this little jewel of a board, now the noise floor is lowered by 7 or 8 dB and the THD went from .2% to .05%, headroom beyond beyond.
i use it in r&d'ing new professional audio products we will be bringing to market.
be aware that the the mic inputs are unbalanced, there is no connection on pin 3.
long mic cable runs might get a little noisy.
we are going to try and install a transformer on the mic input and balance it.
i'll post here when it's done.
