Beta Lead Power Amp dead
« on: January 31, 2014, 12:25:00 pm »
The power amp on my Beta Lead is shot. I ran the pre-amp section into an external power amp and it worked fine.

It's in the shop right now and the tech is telling me he can't figure out what's wrong with it. He's had it forever and I'm starting to think he won't be able to fix it. Is there any reason why I couldn't just buy an external power amp, run the Beta pre amp into it and just use it that way indefinitely? He lead me to believe that doing it that way could cause problems in the future but he didn't really give me a concrete reason why.

I can see no reason that a qualified tech cannot find the problem with the power amp section as these amps are quite simple to work on I would to take it else where to have it looked at if I where you like I said there quite simple I just repaired 2 of these amps myself Good Luck !!
