Beta Bass needs a little love
« on: June 24, 2003, 07:18:23 am »
I have a Beta Bass with one sick channel. The other channel is fine. The mix pot is ok only when the top channel's knobs are on zero. The top channel makes a high pitch feedback noise. Why? The bottom channel is fine. I love my Beta so any help would be great.

thanks Ed Davis

Hello:
Sounds like capacitor failure or broken solder joints. Feed back is probably excessive gain or an oscillation. Best  chance would be to remove the pre-amp board and do a real close observation with a magnifying glass to check for any broken solder joints. If no joy then I can help you with some "backyard" diagnostic methods.
