I have an old Sunn concert bass head/cab combo that I got out of my brother's garage this weekend.(he knows nuthin' about the amp). Anyway, I went to plug in, began to play at low vol. and within about 15 sec. the smooth bass tone turned into a machine gun of popping, slowing in intervals as the intensity of the string died down. if you play a note really really softly and quietly you can make out the bass note but anything harder creates the pops. Imagine Pat Sajack's wheel of fortune and every peg produced a pop as it began to slow to a stop. Hey those are some freaky lyrics.
