Sunn Amp Repair
« on: September 06, 2003, 07:33:35 pm »
As some may remember from a previous post, my Sunn Sceptre began to suffer a bit.

I am happy to report that I picked it up today after a complete make over by Paul of SoFlo Tube Amps in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. The difference is night and day! If it sounded good before, it is unbelievable now! Complex chime! Thundering bass, etc.

Visit Paul's web site and read his approach (techno babble) to the restoration of old amps. Based on what I heard this afternoon, he is spot on and is quite willing to work on Sunns. He is very good and charges accordingly, but what is the point of owning a Sunn it it doesn't shine!  :D

SoFlo id the best.....great guys, I buy parts from them and they even answer the "dumb" questions that a lot of amp techs snicker at...highly recommended
I enjoy old Sunn stuff, tube and solid state, I have a Concert Bass, Concert slave, 1200s (4X6550, dual rectifier) Concert PA, Studio PA, and an old Acoustic 360 2X15 cab but with Sunn Speakers)

Rock On!!
