As some may remember from a previous post, my Sunn Sceptre began to suffer a bit.
I am happy to report that I picked it up today after a complete make over by Paul of SoFlo Tube Amps in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. The difference is night and day! If it sounded good before, it is unbelievable now! Complex chime! Thundering bass, etc.
Visit Paul's web site and read his approach (techno babble) to the restoration of old amps. Based on what I heard this afternoon, he is spot on and is quite willing to work on Sunns. He is very good and charges accordingly, but what is the point of owning a Sunn it it doesn't shine!
