Maybe somebody can give me some advice here....I've got a mid-seventies Model-T (mid-select switch) that I want to use in tandem with a Peavey Mark IV as a slave amp. What I am looking for here is a amp/cab configuration that will give me maximum volume. Here's my gear:

Sunn Model-T

Peavey Mark IV--300 watts at 2ohm

Sunn Solarus (needs slight repair)

cabs: Sunn 6X10 (6ohm, black face version); Music Man 1X18 (8ohm, EV speaker); Acoustic 402 2X15 with crappy speakers (4ohm).

Now what would be loudest combination of amps/cabs? (I play a very distorted bass). I've tried using the Model-T with the 6x10 cab, but it makes sense that I wouldn't get the full wattage because of the impedence mixmatch. I like the bite of the T through 10" speakers, and I'm wondering how to run everything together in a combination that would be capable of causing randomly spontaneous bowel movements.  :o

[addendum: Did anyone ever play a Model-T with the 6X10 Sunn cab? I know where I can get another one very cheap. Two 6X10's in tandem through the T would have to sound pretty nasty.]

whats the output impedance on the model t? Wattage?
I am sure the peavey has a great sound, but in my personal opinion your not going to get the ball crushing sound out of a solid state amp.
Check out http://www.londonpower.com/

heres my solution: pull 4 speakers out of the six by ten. replace the remaining two with high power handling woofers (400/500watt), that match the impedance output of the T. Use the peavey as a preamp if you must. crank it up and listen to it roar.

if i were you, id take the easier (which may possibly the best, maybe not) route,

get a passive signal y adapter, or if you have more amps that all have the sound yer lookin for get a 4 way or somethin... and split the signal from yer bass or pedals, and run a seperate line into each amp. then set the cabs up to match the ohm rating on each amp.. and figure out with cab sounds best with which amp.  not only can you get a shit load o' power from each amp, but you can also set the tone seperately on each amp and have a really full sound... you can use whichever amp you prefer for the low and high.. theres a lot you can do with this... i dont play really loud much, but when i get an itch to rattle the house with some heavy drone, its done the trick... ive never done it live and am not currently playing with a band, i wish i gave it a shot before. but try it out, you can probly figure something out that will beat the shit out of everyone who hears you play...and if it works out right, theyll like it.

have a tech put your model t on a scope and get a wattage rating. Replace those tubes that amp should REALLY crank..don't forget the preamp tubes.
