Sunn Beta Lead and Speaker's

I have little technical knowlege of amps and speakers. I know how to plug a guitar in and turn one on.

I bought a working Sunn Beta Lead and shipped it home to myself.

I do believe it still works, except when I tried it on my 4x10 Marshall cab it just mad a loud hum.

The Sunn Beta Lead output says 4ohms and the Marshall says 8ohms.

I was wondering what my problem is, if it is that the ohms had to match up?

Also if a speaker cab could be recomended?

its very hard to diagnose given the lack of details in your post, but i would have to say if you are getting a hum through the speakers that changes volume with the controls, the power amp is working.. somewhere in the chain the signal from the guitar is getting lost.

could be that one of the jacks has a cold solder joint or broken wire. check that first.

if you are uncomfortable with doing that (VERY high voltages present. can kill you) take the amp to a qualified and trusted tech.
