Not even the same kind of amp, unlike the attempt to "uprade" the Model-T. Assuming that, as "1200s" you mean the late 60's 120watt 4x6550 tube 30" wide guitar amp; the now-discontinued built-by-Fender circa 1999 amp was a two-space rack-mount high-powered solid state bass amp(with a tube at the input stage)meant to chase the Eden/Gallien-Kruger market. So, if you want a "classic" 1200s guitar amp, keep on looking. Have faith, they do turn up from time to time in the strangest places, but there's not nearly as many as the corresponding bass amp of that time, the 2000s.
