solarus and concert slave
« on: February 15, 2005, 02:53:25 am »
i have a '67 solarus 2x12 combo with another sunn 2x12 extension cab.  the solarus hooks up to the extension cab with a speaker cable via the solarus's "EXTERIOR SPEAKER" jack.  it is an amazing clean sound with loud but not saturated overdrive.  can i use a concert slave with the extension cabinet?

furthermore,
what kind of input does the concert slave feature?  i know this question was asked a few days ago by someone else and for all i know people are asking it all the time.  i'm just curious as to whether the slave will work with a solarus.  the guy at jack's music in conway, ar said he didn't think a speaker cable would work with a slave amp, but i don't think he was using "slave amp" in the specialized sense of the term, that is, the "sunn concert slave," specifically made for sunn amps and such.  it seems to me, on paper at least, that the 400w (i think) concert slave would give me the boost i need, and then some.

thanks for any help.

I wouldn't plug anything into a speaker out but a speaker. I don't have experience with the concert slave but would guess that it is a line level input. Plugging into it from a speaker out would probably blow something.
