Model T sound clips?
« on: April 25, 2005, 09:18:18 pm »
so, a friend of mine is in the market for a new amp and he's thinking about going the vintage route.  I'm trying to convince him that for his style of music (heavy, guitar-driven stuff), a Sunn Model T would be pretty much perfect.  But he'd really like to hear one before he buys it.  Can anyone possibly point me in the direction of some high-quality sound clips of just someone playing through a Model T so he can get an idea of what they sound like?

Bachman-Turner Overdrive used Model Ts. Exclusively, as far as I know.

I remember one concert I went to. I was eyeing the equipment, and saw they were using Marshall amps, just like every other group in those days. Then I thought something looked funny about the amps. I looked closer. What they were really using were Sunn Model T amps in cases made to look just like Marshall cases. I don't recall if there was any logo on the front, but, if they went to that length to use their Sunns in public, I'm sure they used them when no one could see.

http://stonerrock.com/mp3/jukeboxframe.asp?earl=StonerRock.com  Go to the band Sunn in the band list and download the song "Richard". It's an instrumental with just guitar and bass. They use vintage Model T's. I own a vintage Model T and mine sounds like that.
