Aye on being safe.. no.. I knew that the caps were dangerous.. before even touching anything I checked them caps.. it did help a little too that it had not be plugged up for 7 years.. I know that the caps can store voltage, of course it is not the voltage that gets ya.. it is the amperage.
This project is going to result in a schematic of the Spectrum I amp and I am sure that there are a few even on this site that would like to have a schematic of this amp.. !!!! Right now .. as old as the amp is.. it prob would not hurt to re-solder all the points in the amp. I have begun to make the drawings of amp already.. I may be wasting my time.. but I had thought about re-capping the amp.. I am not sure yet if it needs it. I am getting ready to buy some other equipment too.. a signal generator, tube tester, oscillioscope.. there is no one in a 60 mile radius of where I live that works on tube amps. Hence another reason to learn this amp..
