sunn solarus reverb tremolo
« on: January 23, 2006, 05:28:06 pm »
i have  recently aquired a late 60's sunn solarus 2 12 combo, it is very hard to find info on this amp, i've been reading throuh the forum and it seems like reverb tanks are impossible to get ahold of, My first question is if anyone knows of ANY reverb tank that will work with this amp, or is there somekind of way to mathmatically calculate what type of tank will and/or wont work ? thanks for your help

If you have the existing tank you might be able to spec a suitable replacement from Accutronics.

Heck, the original might even be an Accutronics - if so there should be a 7 character part code stamped on it somewhere.  If not, check the Accutronics web site.

This page shows the breakdown for the 7 character part code.  Just combine the letters and numbers together.

To determine input and output impedance, if you can measure the DC resistance of the coils you can match that up with the chart on this next page.  Notice that the DC resistance is NOT the impedance, but the resistance values are associated to impedance.

By the way, you can order a specific part number direct from Accutronics via Ebay and Paypal.  This link is available on their website, but I didn't find it easy to find.
