I have a 1970 200S that I've restored and modified. and a completely stock 1968 2000S that needs a rebuild (when I get around to it) but still works fine. I also have a custom ported 1x15 cabinet I made that is similar to the old Sunn 1x15. I'll be making myself a Sunn style 2x15 to go with my 200S and another to go with my 2000S one of these days too.

The stable grows when I find a nice old piece, and occasionally shrinks when somebody agrees to pay me too much for a particular piece, but as of right now,

Tube Sunn heads;
(2) 200S Heads, (2) 2000S Heads, a 100S Head, and a Sceptre Head

Sunn Cabinets;
(3) 2000S cabs, (2) 200S cabs, all loaded with D140's, the matching 100S cab with a D130 and a LE100S horn for the 100S, and the original matching 4X12 Alnico "Sunn Transducer" cab for the Sceptre.

My pride and joy is a 2000S with both matching cabs and the original warranty card bought new as a complete set in 1971 (not by me, however!).

I have a Guitar playing friend locally begging/bribing me for the 100S rig, and since I'm mostly a Bass player it may be leaving the stable this weekend.

I've also got a Beta Lead 4X10 combo.

I've got a pair of EVM 15L's, and a pair of 421A's that I swap out for the D140's from time to time, and I've experimented with most possible new and NOS tube configurations.

I don't have any pics online anywhere, but one of these days I'll get specific port and interior dimensions of my vintage cabinets w/ pics and make them available to this forum. There are a lot of pics of old Sunn heads around, but not a lot of detailed interior shots of original cabinets.

Eh I got a 1969 sorado/200s head, a beta lead head, and a alpha 8 mixer, anyone with a schematic for the alpha 8 will have my love forever...... Looking to get some more sunn gear but not much pops up here

I forgot to mention that I have a Sunn SPL 2216 mixer that I need to work on since some of the channels don't work.

Sunn Spectrum II chassis fitted with 2000S specs. Sounds amazing, of course. I just took it in for new tubes & a tune-up & I can't wait to get it back. Any feedback on Electroharmonix KT88's?

They seem to be a reliable and decent sounding tube so far. I prefer the JJ KT88 myself, but the EH's are fine. I use my Sunns for bass.

I have a 66 smiley face, two jbl cabinet and head that I bought new from Portland Music in the spring of 66. I think it's officially a 220-E-40 (or maybe -30) Mine came stock with D130s. I've reconed them several times but the original baskets are still in it. They have newer upgraded cones in them now (done by the now defunct Eagle Speaker Works in Portland, Oregon in the mid 90s).

Everything works. The cabinet is a bit loose though. I use the head every week to push an Ashdown single 15 cabinet. I play an acoustic upright through the rig these days, but it served most of its life pushing my 63 p bass.

I just stumbled in here doing a random search on vintage sunn equipment. It seems that there isn't a lot of old smiley face stuff out there. Mine came from the original Sundholm era, before the split up.

I've had a lot of good amps over the years - Acoustic 360, big Ampegs, and porta flexes, Ashdown, Fender, etc., etc. But I really like the way that this amp sounds and it's NEVER let me down - save for the one time a beer got poured down the amp top cooling screen over the KT88s.

Eagle speaker works is still around sort of. Pat recently sold his house and moved near where he instructs karate in SE, but he still did stuff as Eagle Speaker works when he owned his house.
