did sunn make any 2x18s's?

anybody know if sunn ever made a 2x18s? theres a sunn cab in a pawnshop here that  looks bigger than a 2x15...they have "2x18" on the tag but its probably a 2x15 huh? probably went with a 2000s or 200s...i couldnt get any sound out of it...but still its cheap...

I don't think they made 2 X 18s.

How big is it?

A 200S cab is 42"H X 24"W X 15"D, and a 2000S cab is 48"H X 30"W X 15"D

If it's a 2000S cab, they are pretty hard to find. They are even harder to ship. If it's in decent shape, cheap enough, and you have room to keep it, it would probably be a good thing to buy. They certainly aren't making any more of them!

I would say so, IF it's definitely a 2000S.
As with anything used; cars, music gear etc., any items "true value" is only as much as somebody will actually pay for it.
Books, online forums, "expert" opinions don't mean squat.
I paid $200 for a 2000S cab with crappy CTS's and no grill cloth, and drove a couple of hours to pick it up. I have "expert" friends who think I'm nuts to even want such an archaic dinosaur cabinet, and other "expert" friends who think I got the deal of the century on a piece of rock history. Who cares? I wanted more than the effort it takes me to make $200 so I bought it.
Enough street philosophy, The cab you found might even have re-conable JBL's in it, but even worst case scenario, you could get a couple of nice D or K140's and have a thumpin' classic bass cab for under $500.
I'd do it in a heartbeat, but that's me.

IMHO, the SUNN logo alone is worth $150. As Sultans of Sunn it's our duty to keep this stuff in use and lookin' fine!  :^>)

I remember reading some place that the sunn logo started to appear with the register "r" on it at some point. Any background info or dates for those?

The logo change and change to the Fender type grill cloth occured around mid 1969. There are examples with old grill cloth and the new logo.

Seems to be examples people have mentioned on here crossing all over the place in regards to logo plates and grill cloth. It seems that changes like that took awhile to be standardized? Seems like finding a two headed albino gorilla if you come across one. Well, maybe not that rare or special but super cool to anyone here!
