connecting a 215 beta bass combo with a 215s !?!?
« on: March 26, 2006, 04:43:54 am »
i have a 215 beta bass combo and a 215s cab.
i got both from ebay(germany) for a pretty fair quote as i hope (170€ and 150€).
i really like to use both cabs at once. but the cabs are 4ohms each and the beta bass amp has 4ohms...
would you change the wiring or would you use an other amp... with the slave in/out or an a-b-switch? any suggestions for an other amp (i am going to use it as a bass and synth amp)?
thanks!

I think you're running a pretty high risk of burning out your amp. Two 4 ohm cabinets stand a good chance of drawing excessive current, destroying the output transistors. Consider rewiring the cabinets for 16 ohms each. that way, the total load will be 8 ohms, well within the amp's tolerance.

Of course, this is where a slave amp is perfect.
