slave?

can someone please explain to me what a slave amp is?

It's an auxillary power amp that normally would get it's signal from the preamp section of an integrated amplifier. For example, if you already have an integrated amp head (like a concert bass/lead, etc.) that you use to run a speaker cabinet(s), you can drive the slave amp with that head (provided it has some sort of preamp line out) and use it to power additional speaker cabs. You can't just use the slave amp by itself, it needs a preamp signal to work properly.

got it.  anpther question: if I have two inputs on the back of my ampeg 8x10 would it be beneficial to get a slave to power 1/2 of the speakers?
or is it reall yonly if I want to use  2 seperate cabs?

Is it possible for me to run my 4x12 cab and an ampeg 8x10 at the same time with my 200w concert lead?

If you have enough power to do what you want using just a single amp, it's probably more convenient to not bother with a slave. If you needed more oomph, you could use a slave to run it like 2 separate cabs. What amp(s) are you using with the 810?

You can hook up as many of whatever you want as long as the total impedance doesn't drop too low. I'm not very up on solid state Sunn gear, but I'm pretty sure that the concert lead is stable down to 4 ohms, possibly even down to 2 ohms. With only 200 watts, you will hit the point of diminishing return pretty quick, though.

The early, silver and black Concert Leads were stable to 4 ohms, and put out 150 watts at that impedance. I'm not as familiar with the black faced amps. 200 watts, and still 4 ohms, I think.

What amp(s) are you using with the 810?

not sure yet. I had tried my sorado head out, and it was fine in my studio, but when I tried to play a show it, it just didn't cut it. way too quiet. so I am looking into getting a solid state that will give me the most volume for my buck via the 810 while I save up for an SVT head.
