Another Power Switch Question
«

Can any of you guys tell me who made the plastic power switch (the one with the light inside) used in the Concert, Coliseum, and some of the tube amps made by Sunn? I'm still trying to track one down. Thanks!

I'm not sure if this will fit a Coliseum or a Concert but it fit in a Model T. It's a snap-in with a plastic flange around the actuator. It has three terminals on the back. It doesn't look the same but it's close. Not cheap !
Carling LTILA50-6S-BL-RC-NBL
Sold by Allied as part number 683-0128.
www.alliedelec.com
. I think Newark sell the same part.
Carling made the original and you could probably still get one like that if you order a 1000 and can figure out all the options in the part number string. Look at their catalog online. The number of options is mind numbing.

Still, $5 ain't so bad for a new power switch.
If you don't want to go for that, maybe take the old one out and go to your local amp repair place, see if they can look up a replacement part for you?

Thanks a bunch! Knowing that Carling made the original is very helpful. Now if I can figure out the proper one (the one that has the smaller, single light built into it) I'll be in business.
Yes, I think the Model T used the same switch as the Coliseum and the Concert. If anyone knows for sure, please let me know.
Thanks for the helpful information!!

Uhhhh....
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.....
I've just been to the Carling website and it looks like they make a lighted switch that is a 90-95% look-alike to the original switch. They call it the Tippette Rocker Switch and the actuator style appears to be what they call "Long-Line with One Lens."
I've called my local electronics repair guy and he's going to see if he can order some (one for me and a few to keep in stock for other repairs).
I'll keep you posted.

Guys,
Just a quick update. I'm in touch with Carling to see if they have any of these switches lying around. I've been lucky enough to get in touch with a fellow there who plays guitar and remembers Sunn amps quite well as his bass player used to use one! We'll see what happens and I'll let you guys know. If through some miracle I can find a few switches (what better place to look than the warehouse of the original manufacturer?) I'll purchase as many as I can and then offer them to guys here at my cost.
I'm keeping my fingers and toes crosssed....
