tubes

I know this is not a tube specific site, but I hope your experince will help me here.  I just recieved two boxes, there are two more, of about 100 various NOS tubes each from a job site.  the lady just wanted them gone, her grandfather was a tech.  we're talking 400-500 tubes here.  mainly RCA's, GE's and a few Westinghouse.  is this the pot at the end of the rainbow?

Hey you might just have something there....do you know the condition or do you have a tester? I did this a few years back and the big drawback is it takes ALOT of time to go through everything....especially if the tube has no clear labeling or factory etch codes...what are you going to do now?

I would sort them by manufacturer and type, then test them all to make sure they're still good.  From there, its up to you what you do with them.

It could certainly be a tidy sum waiting for you if they are good tubes, there is always a roaring NOS market!

I have a friend with a tester and as far as sorting, that's going to take some time.  these are wierd tubes, only a few I can use in my amps.  I guess we'll see

I know what you mean, but sometimes that wierd tube is what some cool old amp takes...I remember never thinking much of 6CG7 tubes until I put a bunch of triple plate blackplate versions and was paid very well! Do alittle online research and you'll probably double your money...good luck!
