Concert lead problem
« on: May 18, 2000, 05:52:00 am »
Hi there, I have a problem with the clean sounds on my concert lead. The problem is that when I turn the amp up past 2 it just distorts and doesn't get any louder.
This is the same on both channels(although I don't really care about it on the distort channel).
I'm pretty surprised about this since everybody raves about the amount of volume this amp can produce.
My best guess is that my speakers can't handle the output of the sunn.
My cabinet is a 2X15" Peavey(4 ohm) which was originally designed for bass. Is it possible that this is the problem? Also, what kind of cabinet(power handling, what kind of speakers?) did the concert lead came out with?
Thanks in advance,
Truck

Hello Truck:
Well It sounds to me like you have problems in the amp. Kinda sounds like power the supply has low voltage rails or just some preamp gain problem from a bad part. There are a couple of guys knowlegable in those amps that frequent this site. you could cruise through the postings and e-mail a likely candidate.

If it's too loud, you're too old.
