Question: "Fender" SUNN 1200S BASS HEAD
« on: December 06, 2007, 08:48:53 pm »
Group...

It seems these heads have had some issues with blowing the solid state onboard power supply.
Does this issue sound familiar to anyone that owns one?

If I had one where the power supply was shot, would it be possible to use it as a pre-amp and run it through an external power amp?

Thanks for any input!!!

Curt

Hi,

I've used the SUNN/Fender 1200s for eight years. There was no problem with the powersupply. Though there were problems with some solderings.

Are U shure U wanna use this heavy amp with an extra external poweramp?  :-P
I mean, the preampsection is not bad...

Just a hint: I do remember that the 1200S got a very lage circut board. I would check this circut board first and then exchange the onboard power supply. I think U should get it from fender.

Greetings

Oliver
