412 I can't identify
« on: February 09, 2008, 04:19:47 pm »
I've had this Sunn 412 slant cab for a few years now. It's in great shape and sounds pretty darn nice, but I've never figured out for sure what era it's from. I would guess it's from around the red-knob times just based on the lettering of the back panel, but I'm just not sure. I haven't seen something with this particular type of sunn badge before. I'm sure someone here knows for sure...

Anybody got a year range for it?
Perhaps a vague idea of value?
And by some odd chance, anybody know what kind of speakers this would have in it by default?

Thanks!

How can you not identify it? It says Model 412 right on the jackplate. It's a Model 412.

Time period I'm not going to be much help with. From the name, it would have to be from the time Sunn named all of their speakers "Model This" or "Model That". Late seventies or early eighties, I think. When did Fender buy Sunn and shut them down?

that back plate does kinda look like a fender era sunn.   but it usually said 'fender..made in corona"  or whatever type stuff on there.
