ps1200
« on: April 15, 2000, 05:30:00 pm »
I have recently come across a used ps1200 dimmer pack.
When I plug it in all the lights shine and are bright.
But when I hook it to my NSI contoller the lights dim and
gently flicker or shake if you will.  I have change the
program sequence and it still does it.  Any suggestions.
                                       Thanks,  Mindrhythm

Hello,
The PS1200 uses a multiplexed 0v - 10v signal. First check to see how the dip switches are set (located at the power cord end I think). These switches set which group of 4 faders (or channels) the unit will respond to. It is a binary sys. All off is channels 1-4 / #1 on is 5-8 / #1off and #2 on is 9-12 and so on. The NSI gear also has an adjustable element warmer where the bulbs should be glowing slightly to increase lamp life. If the filaments are on too much it can be adjusted internally in the board. The sensitivity of the PS1200 can also be changed but that requires changing a resistor. Early PS1200 also exibited problems with flickering when they were connected to 3 phase AC. Don T.
